Grace has now entered the stage we really thought we somehow managed to avoid- the "I'm gonna put everything in my mouth" phase.
I think a clear indication of entrance into this phase happened this afternoon. We were in the pool at the Y for swim class, and during it she swam to the ledge, neatly plopped herself out of the pool, and grabbed a dried seed pod from a pile of old, soggy, slimy leaves next to the pool and attempted to eat it. We got it away from her INSTANTLY, but how did she even spot that? What would make it register as food? We came home and pretty much got down on our bellies and did a sweep of the entire house to make sure NOTHING was on the floor that was smaller than a golf ball.
First toilet paper and birdseed, now dead plants.
My mom told me that when Grace slept over on Monday, she did this weird thing when she was sitting on the floor with Knuckles (my parents' cat). Apparently, Grace pretended to pluck something off Knuckles' feet and eat it. My mom panicked because she thought Grace was pulling out clumps of cat hair and eating it, but it turned out Grace was just pretending to eat his toes. Or something.
Oh my goodness. This is the stage where you look over and randomly see them chewing, almost like they have a steak in their mouth and then you relize it's a clump of lint or fuzz or something equally as icky. Thankfully they usually grow out of it pretty quick.

So I am sitting hear laughing about Grace pretending to eat the cats toes. That is hilarious to me. She is going to be a handful!

Eating the cat's toes?! That's too cute! (I'm glad it wasn't its hair! :)
