Words (really, sounds) Gracie can say:
- No! (pronounced: new, gno, or any variation in between)
- Delilah (pronounced: duh-NYE-nah)
- Uh-Oh
- Wha? (pronounced: whaaaaaaaahhhhh? going extrememly high pitched at the end)
- Baby (pronounced:bee bee)

Signs Gracie can make:
- please
- thank you
- hungry/eat
- thirsty/drink
- bye
- cereal
- kitty (sometimes)

We are working on doing thumbs up now, since the sign for good is too close to "thank you".

That's a good list - she's growing up so fast! Our oldest daughter's first word was our cat's name... so funny. (I was a tad jealous of the cat since she took forever to start saying Mama!)

Does Gracie call for Delilah? Thank you for sharing! Gracie is one smart little cutie pie!

Wow- that's so great that she is learning to sign! I've always wanted to read the Baby Signs book- it's so fascinating to me. And I love the "gno"- so cute! :)

Hi. My name is Kay and I live in China. I have worked in the local orphanage for almost four years and recently resigned due to my inability to face the trauma/neglect/corruption any longer. Surfing adoption stories help to cheer me up and I came across yours. Your daughter reminds me of so many baby girls that I have loved over the years--she is beautiful and you write like a very special mom. You and Gracie are lucky to have found eachother. -- Kay

Chel (pronounced "shell"). 33. Mama to Gracie. Artist. Friend. Adoptive parent. Scrapbooker (not a very good one, at that). Long distance swimmer. Animal rescuer. Wife. Beader maker. Vegetarian. Rubber stamp collector.

Why the change? This new face of gingerblue.com is the culmination of three online journals/blog (the adoption blog, the baby blog, the art blog), plus the personal web page I have been maintaining since 1995. Here you'll find updates on Gracie, updates on my jewelry making, what I have going on in my art studio, and what's going on with life in general.
